So this morning I really had no idea what I wanted to post about today so I hit up the Internet as usual for inspiration. I was on the Goodwill facebook page browsing to see if anyone had posted any fabulous finds and stumbled across this girl! Her mission was to create a new dress every day for 365 days with only $365! I have always been so inspired by some of the fabrics and patterns I come across while thrifting, but I really have no idea what to do to them. All I can say is, wow! I hope she doesn't stop after 365 days because I want to keep seeing what she comes up with!

On a side note, I do ask that if you are starting to read my blog that you'll either become a follower or give me a shout out in the comments section. It keeps my motivated knowing people are reading what I have to say! :)

Elise, I found your blog on Marisa's site. I just wanted to tell you I think it's great that you thrift shop instead of expecting your parents to buy your clothes like some college kid. I also buy at thrift stores and consignment shops. My favorite is St. Vincent DePaul stores they are run by the Catholic church. So find the nearest Catholic church and see if they have a store. Around here they are a lot cheaper than any other thrifts. Also have you gone to shopgoodwill.com? The prices aren't as cheap as the store but you can still find some good bargins. Sorry this is so long but I hope I helped you find even more bargins. Thanks for listening and I like your site.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comment! :) I adore thrift shopping. It allows me to be so much more creative and I can try so many more trends than if I paid a bunch of money in the store and ended up not liking it. I personally haven't been to any of the Catholic thrift stores, but I googled it and found a few somewhat near my area! I have tried shopgoodwill in the past, but haven't had much luck. Thanks for the tips and I hope you continue reading!
ReplyDeleteHi there Elise! I'm another one who found your site from Marisa's blog. I don't usually leave comments, but you wrote that they motivate you to keep writing on your blog, so here I am!
ReplyDeleteI love what you're doing, and I've bookmarked your blog. I'll check in from time to time to see what you've been up to!
I also love thrifting, and I've been inspired by Marisa's site too. Have you gone onto the Wardrobe Refashion site? There are some good projects on there too, and it's just a fabulous concept.
I also wanted to say that I've taken a quick peek through your site and you've given me some ideas! I love your style. Keep it up!
Thank you Robin! It inspires me to write more when I know people are reading it and care about what I'm doing and have to say. I have not been on that site, but I will be sure to check it out as soon as I'm done posting this!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Marisa's blog as well. Love to see your finds as I am a thrift shopper as well. Wish our prices were as low as yours!
